Top 10 Twitter Education Influencers

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We sometimes find it hard to know who to follow and how to navigate the fast-paced feed of Twitter, so we decided to inject a little maths into the equation to devise our list of the Top 10 Twitter Education Influencers.

What were the results?

The winner was TeacherToolkit but Barnsley College are climbing up the ranks! Don’t worry, we’ll be updating our Top 10 periodically so that the rising stars are recognised.

Do you agree with this list? Let us know in the comments. There is bound to be some contention!

How did we do it?

We use a system called Klout to provide a Klout Score: “The majority of the signals used to calculate the Klout Score are derived from combinations of attributes, such as the ratio of reactions you generate compared to the amount of content you share. For example, generating 100 retweets from 10 tweets will contribute more to your Score than generating 100 retweets from 1,000 tweets. We also consider factors such as how selective the people who interact with your content are. The more a person likes and retweets in a given day, the less each of those individual interactions”. Let us know if you think the Klout score has done these influencers justice!

We searched for 12 terms: Education Blog; Teacher Blog; School Blog; EdChat; Lesson Plan; Headteacher; SLTChat; UKEdChat; Ofsted; DfE; Teacher Retention; and, NQTChat.
